EMT Sponsorship Applications
Sponsorships for EMT-B
There are two types of sponsorships. 1) SAR member wants to become an EMT and take a County offered EMT course; 2) SAR member has taken an EMT course and wants to be sponsored by KCSO to be a licensed EMT, or is transfering to KCSO from another EMS agency, or is adding KCSO as a secondary EMS Agency Affiliate. SAR members who take a community college EMT course should follow the #2 sponsorship application process.
All EMTs in SAR need to list KCSO as an EMS Agency in order to provide care at the EMT care provider level while on SAR missions.
There is currently no "waiting period" for sponsorship as an EMT under KCSO/KCSARA. An applicant must only show proof of their completion of an eligible EMT-B class and have the permission from their unit.
